Those of you who own an HTC One (M8) smartphone on the network of mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless should rejoice, as a new software update is set to arrive on your devices as soon as tomorrow.

This update is none other than the Android 4.4.3 KitKat platform refresh that HTC has been pushing to its latest flagship for the past several weeks, and which has finally received the necessary approvals for the Verizon model as well.

The info comes from HTC’s Mohammed Versi, executive director of product management, who has confirmed in a recent tweet not only that the update has been approved for Verizon’s HTC One (M8), but also that it is coming on September 10.

Moreover, he has revealed that the update will also provide users with the Extreme Power Saving Mode that was made available on HTC One (M8) devices outside the US since March.

For those out of the loop, we should also note that the update does not include only the enhancements packed inside Android 4.4.3, but that it will also provide users with the new features and improvements in Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

HTC has merged both of them into a single, larger update, although it’s strange that it has also opted to keep the older Android 4.4.3 version number for it.

Users will receive improved features and apps, Extreme Power Savings Mode

In addition to these enhancements, which are mainly security fixes, the update will also provide users with a better BoomSound experience, as well as with improved Quick Settings and Motion Launcher.

Moreover, the Camera, Settings, Gallery, and HTC Sync manager applications on the mobile phone will be updated too as part of the new platform refresh.

However, the aforementioned Extreme Power Savings Mode remains the most appealing new feature included in the update, that’s for sure.

As PhoneArena explains, this new option will provide the owners of HTC One (M8) devices with longer usage times. Basically, it will offer 24-hour up time with only 8% battery.

However, in order to ensure that less battery is used, the phone will close most operations, allowing users only to make and receive calls, to send and receive texts messages, and to check their email (though this needs to be done manually).

The Android 4.4.3 software update will arrive on Verizon’s HTC One (M8) over the air, which means that users will receive a notification as soon as it is available for their devices. However, they can also manually check on its availability, starting tomorrow, September 10.
