Verizon Wireless, the largest CDMA carrier in the United States, is expected to make available for purchase on its airwaves in the not-too-distant future its first device to run under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform, the HTC 7 Trophy, but it seems that this might not happen as soon as expected.

Some of the latest reports on the matter suggest that Verizon won't add the HTC 7 Trophy to its lineup before June is here, which is rather hard to believe.

The other large CDMA carrier in the country, Sprint, plans on making its first Windows Phone 7 device available for customers starting with this month, and it wouldn't make sense for Verizon to wait a few months before making a similar move.

Previous rumors pinned Trophy's launch to March, though there is the possibility that Verizon might have indeed pushed it back to the end of the second quarter.

Until more on this emerges, we should note that WPCentral managed to learn some more info on the device, including the fact that the new device would run under NoDo version 7.0.7355 when put on shelves, although this is not the most recent Windows Phone 7 build.

Certain photos with the device that emerged on the said website confirm some of the other specs of this handset, including the fact that it would be a global CDMA/quad-band GSM phone.

The Verizon HTC 7 Trophy would become the first Windows Phone 7 device to be a world phone at the carrier, which would certainly appeal a lot to users.

The mobile phone itself is reportedly capable of offering impressive performance levels, which would attract users even more.

For the time being, however, nothing was officially confirmed on the matter. Even if rumors on HTC 7 Trophy's landing emerged ever since October last year, the carrier has yet to make a formal announcement on this, and specific info on the handset and its arrival would become available at that time.
