Wireless carrier Verizon has just made the Galaxy Nexus (the first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone in the world) available for purchase on its airwaves, apparently with a little treat for those who will grab it, namely an upgrade to Android 4.0.2.

Soon after activation, the smartphone will be upgraded to the new platform version, Droid-life found out, and there is a photo available to prove that.

As can be seen in the shot, the Galaxy Nexus sports build number ICL53F, which is newer than the ITL41F (Android 4.0.1) build that was previously spotted on the phone.

One of the changes that the new OS flavor will bring along is reportedly aimed at the connectivity capabilities of the device, at least this is what the radio/baseband upgrade from EK01 to EK05 would mean.

Unfortunately, specific info on what other changes Verizon and Google packed the new OS with did not emerge.
