HTC Droid Eris has been said to be the second Android mobile phone Verizon Wireless plans to add to its offering, and a series of images and specs on the device already emerged into the wild, followed now by some live images with it, and a more detailed list of specifications and features the handset should come to the market with.

According to a recent post on phone Arena, the HTC Droid Eris is expected to officially emerge on November 6, the same day Motorola DROID, the first Android handset on Verizon, becomes available for purchase. The new device is also rumored to have been priced at $99 after the signing of a two-year contract agreement with Big Red and after mail-in rebates.

As for what the phone will deliver to users, the list includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel (HVGA) resolution, a 5-megapixel photo snapper that will not include flash, a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor clocked in at 528MHz, 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, as well as EVDO Rev A, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity options.

Other specs and features of this device are an HTML browser, virtual on-screen QWERTY keyboard, the Android 1.5 operating system, with Sense UI integration, a 3.5mm headset jack, microSDHC memory card slot with support for 16GB of additional storage space and an 8GB card included in the package, all inside a gadget that measures 4.45 x 2.19 x 0.51 inches and weighs 4.23oz.

All in all, the HTC Droid Eris seems like a decent option for an Android phone, except maybe for the OS version it comes to the market with. Considering the lower price tag it is expected to feature, $99 on contract, compared to the $199 the Motorola DROID will be priced at, the device should show a good performance on the market. It only remains to be seen whether rumors on its release date and price tag will pan out, so stay tuned to learn more.
