It will be available on Verizon in the coming months

VMware and Verizon Wireless have just announced they team up to offer the carrier's enterprise customers the VMware Horizon Mobile business solution.

With VMWare Horizon Mobile, Verizon business subscribers will be able to use the same Android device for both professional and personal use.

According to VMware, the solution is meant to “securely provision, manage and de-provision a corporate mobile workspace (email, applications, data, etc.)” of a customers that uses an Android device.

The processes mentioned above can be done OTA (over-the-air), and the Android device owner retains both the privacy and control of their handset.

Verizon Wireless and VMware are delivering a compelling new mobile security and management experience leveraging our most reliable 3G and 4G LTE network along with the proven virtualization and cloud computing platform leadership of VMware to address this enterprise trend,” said Janet Schijns, vice president, Business Solutions Group, Verizon Wireless.

Verizon and VMware agreed to bring the business solution to the market using several LG devices that will soon be tested and ready for use with VMware Horizon Mobile.

Furthermore, enterprises and public entities that want to use VMware Horizon Mobile business solution will also be allowed to access more than 250,000 apps via Android Market, unlike other similar solutions that restrict access to some of these apps.

VMware Horizon Mobile will be available on Verizon Wireless smartphones in the coming months.
