It should include a lot of similarities with HTC One

Last year, mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless brought to the market in the United States HTC’s flagship Android-based HTC Butterfly smartphone under the name of DROID DNA, and it seems that the company might plan a similar move with the new HTC One.

Rumors on a possible arrival of HTC One at Verizon have emerged several months ago, even before the phone was officially unveiled, yet nothing has been confirmed on the matter as of now.

However, new reports on this suggest that the two companies are indeed building a successor of the DROID DNA, and that it might arrive on shelves sooner rather than later.

Furthermore, the device is said to be codenamed DLX PLUS, which would clearly suggest that it might have something to do with last year’s DROID DNA.

However, the specs list that this rumored smartphone would supposedly pack, which have been unveiled by llabtoofer, suggests that it might actually be more closely related to the HTC One.

The phone is said to sport a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1080p resolution, while being powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor.

Additionally, the handset would pack an UltraPixel photo snapper, along with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and HTC’s own Sense 5.0 UI on top of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The specs list of this device is also said to include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/Glonass.

Interestingly though, the handset is said to arrive on shelves at Verizon first, and only then to be launched in other regions, which could mean that it might land as a new flavor of HTC One, if not a completely different smartphone.

For the time being, however, nothing has been formally confirmed on this, and we should take the info above with a grain of salt. Keep an eye on this space for more on the matter.
