Verizon Wireless and HTC announced on Thursday that the HTC Touch Diamond would start selling today through the carrier's business sales channels, while also being available for purchase online on its site. The new HTC Touch Diamond features a fashionable mobile design and can prove a great productivity tool for busy professionals. In addition, it will come on a reliable voice and data network, being able to offer users fast e-mail and Internet connectivity.

The new handset will come to the operator's lineup dressed in Black, while sporting a 2.76-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus capabilities, and a microSD memory card slot able to offer support for up to 16GB of additional storage space to store photos, videos and music.

The HTC Touch Diamond comes with the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, offers support for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office applications, and also allows users to choose between the familiar Windows Mobile home screen or the HTC TouchFLO 3D user interface.

At the same time, the built-in Opera browser allows for fast navigation on the Internet. Various services that the mobile phone carrier has to offer to its subscribers are supported as well, including VZ Navigator, offering customers audible turn-by-turn directions to over 15 million points of interest and Visual Voice Mail, or Mobile IM support to stay connected to others while on the go.

Verizon Wireless will offer the mobile phone at a price tag of $299.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate and the signing of a two-year customer agreement. The rebate is offered in the form of a credit card, and, “upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.” Those who would like to use the operator's services need to know that VZ Navigator is available for $9.99 monthly access, while Visual Voice Mail is available for $2.99 monthly access. More information can be found on the company's website.
