Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless reportedly updated one of the applications it offers to its Andorid and BlackBerry users, namely the My Verizon Mobile software solution.

According to the wireless carrier, the mobile application offers its customers the possibility to manage their accounts straight from their Android or BlackBerry devices, while also offering them the possibility to monitor family usage in an easier manner.

“It’s easier than ever for Verizon Wireless customers to use their Android and BlackBerry smartphones to manage their accounts from their handsets and monitor family usage,” Verizon Wireless announced.

The My Verizon Mobile account management application has been enhanced with expanded capabilities, now enabling Verizon users to grab their smartphones and easily:

- View minute, message and data usage - Adjust allowance minutes on current plans - Make one-time payments and set up and maintain auto-pay - View upgrade eligibility and contract end date - Manage Friends & Family numbers. At the same time, the wireless carrier announced that its customers would be able to enjoy the same features as they are familiar with to manage their accounts at all times, no matter where they are.

Some of the features the application comes with include: checking balances, changing features, getting bill reprints, changing addresses, resetting voice mail passwords, and accessing Family Locator.

But this is not all, it seems. According to Big Red, the My Verizon Mobile software solution is currently shipping on all new Android devices at the carrier.

The BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Storm2 smartphones can also get the application, via a free software update available for the carrier's existing customers.

“My Verizon Mobile will be made available on additional BlackBerry smartphones and on Feature and 3G Multimedia phones in the coming months,” Verizon Wireless stated.

Additional info on the new solution, as well as on other offerings available from Verizon Wireless, are available on the carrier's website.
