Verizon and Samsung have teamed up once again to show customers that it's not all about powerful processors and large touch displays.

Customers who prefer Verizon Wireless over other US-based carriers will probably be happy to know that the carrier has just announced the upcoming availability of a cheap feature-phone, Samsung Gusto 2.

The clamshell will be available for purchase in the coming weeks for only $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement.

With the easy-to-use Samsung Gusto 2, Verizon targets seniors or those who prefer simplicity over the complexities offered by a modern smartphone.

Thanks to a smooth and compact design, users will have no trouble dialing numbers and type text messages with its large contoured keypad.

There's more to it as the clamshell also comes with improved social networking capabilities, which makes updating statuses on Facebook and Twitter a breeze.

According to Samsung, the Gusto 2 comes with DyVE (Dynamic Voice Enhancement) with noise suppression technology, which greatly reduces background noise levels and enhances speech quality.

Samsung Gusto 2 comes with a sub-par 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, which is just enough to allow users to capture their most precious moments. The camera features timer, brightness control and shooting modes (single and continuous), as well as effects (black and white, antique and negative).

Furthermore, the feature-phone comes packed with a range of accessibility features including voice-enabled menu and submenus that verbalize basic features and functions such as incoming texts, contacts list, battery level, signal strength and more.

To make things even more easier for user, the phone features one-touch shortcut keys for quick access to emergency contacts, voicemail, speakerphone, camera and messaging.

The phone sports a small 2-inch main display, Bluetooth support, as well as VZ Navigator that offers audible turn-by-turn directions to points of interest.
