Major carrier Verizon Wireless confirmed it would offer the Nokia Lumia 822, though the operator did not unveil the exact release date of the smartphone.
However, the Big Red states the Lumia 822 will ship by November 13. True to its promise, Verizon has started shipping the Nokia Lumia 822 to all those who pre-ordered the device.
WPCentral reports numerous customers received confirmation email informing them the Lumia 822 had been shipped and that they were expected to get it on November 15.
Nokia Lumia 822 is available in three color options: white, silver and black. According to the latest hearsay, the silver version of the smartphone has yet to be shipped, though we don’t have any confirmation on this one yet.
Customers who wish to purchase the Lumia 822 should know that the smartphone is exclusive to Verizon and is available for $100/€80 with a new two-year agreement. In addition, Windows Phone fans can grab the Lumia 822 for $450/€355 on no-term. Check it out here.
At first glance, Nokia Lumia 822 pricing options are excellent, but AT&T is offering the most powerful Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Lumia 920 for the same amounts.
Unlike the Lumia 920 which features a stunning 4.5-inch display and an 8.7-megapixel rear camera, the Lumia 822 sports only a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display and an 8-megapixel photo snapper with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, dual-LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording.
On the inside, both Lumia smartphones are similar as they come packed with 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processors, Adreno 225 GPUs and 1GB of RAM.
It is also worth mentioning that the Lumia 822 features 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).
Nokia Lumia 822 is powered by an 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 255 hours (400 hours in 3G mode) of standby time or up to 10.2 hours (11.8 hours in 3G mode) of talk time.
