Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just released a new handset on its airwaves, namely the CASIO G’zOne Brigade. The new phone, which has been already rumored to be on its way to Big Red, comes with a rugged design with QWERTY keyboard, and is a messaging and multimedia device that comes with 810F certification for resistance to shock, dust, water, solar radiation and extreme temperatures, it seems.

“The CASIO G’zOne Brigade appeals to a broader base with a QWERTY keyboard for texting and new refinements for urban and outdoor use. This phone is built to military specifications to survive extreme shock, water and dust environments. Push to Talk gives you quick access to contacts to get the job done efficiently. Use the Brigade to talk, text, and share photos - wherever you are. Access your favorite entertainment features like the 3.2 Megapixel Camera with Flash, Visual Voice Mail, HTML Browser, V CAST Music with Rhapsody and V CAST Videos,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

The specifications list of the phone includes a 2.9-inch internal display that boasts a 400 x 240 pixel resolution, coupled with an external display of 1.2 inches, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, flash and video recording capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, a 2.5mm Headset Jack, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space, media player, and a battery that can deliver up to 360 minutes of talk time or up to 90 hours of standby time.

The new device measures 4.4 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches and weighs in at 6.0 ounces, and comes with support for a great deal of services, including V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V CAST Videos, VZ Navigator, Visual Voice Mail, support for mobile email, corporate email and more, not to mention that it is also Rev A Push to Talk capable. The new device is available for purchase on Verizon's website for $249.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after $50 online discount. Additional details are available here.
