Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is getting ready for the launch of new software updates for its HTC Rezound and DROID Incredible 2 devices.

The wireless operator has already approved the updates for these devices, though it seems that there will be only a series of enhancements delivered to them for the time being.

As Droid-life notes in a recent post, all that these updates will bring on smartphones is an “HTC Device Enhancement.”

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that both devices would fare better if new platform releases landed on them. The DROID Incredible 2 still lags behind Ice Cream Sandwich, while Rezound needs an update to Jelly Bean.

No info on when Verizon will start pushing the new updates out has surfaced so far, but more should emerge soon, so stay tuned.

My husbands Droid Incredible II "updated" today and CRASHED! Took it to Verizon who did a factory reset, didn't work. Said we have to pay to replace it... Not their fault?

I have the Resound, and its been painfully glitchy after the update... I doubt Verizon will do anything for me. They used to be a company who cared about their customers, but sadly that's changed, even when it is their fault (but more importantly, when its NOT the customer's fault).
