The carrier will provide users with various enhancements, no OS upgrade

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is getting ready for the launch of new software updates for its HTC Rezound and DROID Incredible 2 devices.

The wireless operator has already approved the updates for these devices, though it seems that there will be only a series of enhancements delivered to them for the time being.

As Droid-life notes in a recent post, all that these updates will bring on smartphones is an “HTC Device Enhancement.”

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that both devices would fare better if new platform releases landed on them. The DROID Incredible 2 still lags behind Ice Cream Sandwich, while Rezound needs an update to Jelly Bean.

No info on when Verizon will start pushing the new updates out has surfaced so far, but more should emerge soon, so stay tuned.
