Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is getting ready for the release of a new software update for the owners of DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD smartphones on its network, namely firmware version 9.20.1.

Apparently, the new upgrade arrives on devices with a variety of bug fixes packed inside, though it does not bring along the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform iteration, despite users’ interest in it.

Verizon has already published details on the update, informing owners of said devices that they will receive new versions of SmartActions and Backup Assistant as part of it.

Furthermore, there should be fixes for various SMS bugs, along with enhanced GPS and Bluetooth capabilities, and a patch for a security flaw.

The update weighs 50MB, and should start rolling out to users in one week or so, Droid-life notes in a recent article.
