The application is available for free via Android Market

Verizon has finally updated its “NFL Mobile” application to support Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

According to the app’s change log, “NFL Mobile” now supports smartphones with Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, while the Live Video, in-game highlights and SMS alerts are only available on handsets.

However, it appears that there are some problems with the update as lots of Galaxy Nexus owners reported that the application cannot be installed on their smartphones.

Those who are met with the “NFL Mobile is not currently supported on this device” message should try to install the application again or clear its data/cache. Hopefully, Verizon will provide a fix for this issue within the next few days.

“NFL Mobile” is available as a free download via Android Market and should be compatible with all devices running Android 1.5 and up.
