It appears that Verizon Wireless is reportedly rolling out a new software update for the Motorola XOOM 4G LTE. Obviously, this is not the promised Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, instead it’s a minor update that adds a new option for Verizon customers.

According to the official change log, software update HLK75F now offers month to month, PAYG (pay as you go) 4G LTE mobile broadband service.

In addition, the Google Setup Wizard has been updated to improve the stability of the PAYG (pay as you go) detection on first device power up.

Although the update is not critical for all Verizon Motorola XOOM 4G LTE owners, it is critical for those who want to take advantage of the carrier’s PAYG plans with the tablet.

The update is only 9MB in size, so the installation process should only take a minute or so.
