Wireless carrier Verizon and Cupertino-based Apple have just announced that the popular iPad tablet PC should become available for purchase on the operator's network starting with Thursday, October 28. The device would become available for purchase via the wireless carrier in three bundles, the duo announced.

Big Red's customers interested in the iPad would be able to choose from three bundles the carrier plans on making available for them, all three sporting an iPad Wi-Fi model and a Verizon MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

Specifically, users would be able to choose an iPad Wi-Fi 16GB + MiFi option for $629.99, an iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi package for $729.99, or an iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi option for $829.99.

At the same time, the wireless carrier announced that it would put in place a monthly access plan for its iPad customers, offering them up to 1GB of data for only $20 a month, in addition to making all three iPad Wi-Fi models available on a stand-alone basis.

“This is the perfect pairing for holiday travels. iPad together with the nation’s largest and most reliable 3G data network allows customers to easily connect on the go wherever they are,” John Stratton, chief operating officer for Verizon Wireless.

With Apple iPad, users can browse the Internet, read and send email, view photos, share them, watch videos, listen to music, play games, and do much more.

The iPad Wi-Fi models weigh in at 1.5 pounds, while being 0.5 inches thick. The tablet can offer up to 10 hours of battery life.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Verizon Wireless to get iPad into the hands of even more customers this holiday season,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s COO.

“iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before, and together with Verizon Wireless we’re offering an easy way to stay connected wherever you go.”
