Major carrier Verizon plans to roll out a new software update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3. But don’t get too thrilled about it, as the update does not bring the phablet’s software version to Android 4.4. KitKat.

As AndroidPolice points out, the upcoming update adds some Verizon-related applications and services, and fixes some bugs reported by users or uncovered by Samsung’s engineers.

Obviously, no one likes to have bloatware installed on their smartphones, but in this case, Galaxy Note 3 owners must download and install the upcoming update when Verizon decides to kick off the rollout so that they can benefit from all the bug fixes included.

Speaking of which, Verizon has already published the official changelog of the update, so Galaxy Note 3 owners can learn what’s new.

The following apps, widgets and services will be preloaded on Verizon Galaxy Note 3: MyInfoZone widget, VMWare, Verizon Support & Protection (VSP) version 2.0.0, Verizon Cloud.

That’s all the bloatware that Galaxy Note 3 owners will receive after applying the update. But here are the bug fixes that will be delivered as well:

- Incoming call display Picture Me on screen when using Call Waiting; - Handwriting data entry issue for email and SMS messages has been resolved; - Email sync issue has been fixed and connectivity has been improved; - BT audtio continues after a call is missed; - Mobile Hotspot reliability has been improved; - Samsung keyboard crash issue has been resolved; - Notification Panel responsiveness has been improved.

It is also worth mentioning that Voicemail Notification now has an Urgent Priority notification option, and sound quality along with connectivity areas have been improved to offer better overall performance.

Keep in mind that the update will soon be rolled out in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all Verizon Galaxy Note 3 devices.
