Shortly after announcing the upcoming release of a new software update for LG Lucid, Verizon Wireless published the official changelog for a minor update aimed at Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablets.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 was released at the Big Red last year, it’s been only a few months since it received Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Samsung confirmed that the slate would get a Jelly Bean upgrade as well, but we’re still waiting for the handset maker to announce the exact release date.

Until then, Verizon Galaxy Tab 7.7 owners should prepare their tablets for a new update, which has just been confirmed by the carrier.

Software update IMM76D.LP11 will soon be available for download OTA (over-the-air). According to Verizon, it adds an enhancement to reduce the electrical consumption during power-off charging.

The OTA update doesn't work. Just like ICS it downloads and fails to update after the reboot.
