Yesterday, wireless carrier Verizon Wireless has made the BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 update available for some of its users, a sign that the official release is getting closer.

The update arrived with version 10.2.1.537 attached, and installed OS version 10.2.1.1925 on BlackBerry Z10 handsets at the wireless carrier, N4BB notes.

However, the update is not officially available for all users out there, and BlackBerry themselves have confirmed this in a statement.

“A limited number of VZW customers today received the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update however it is not generally available yet. We’ll keep you posted on general availability,” the company reportedly said.

Recently, BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 has been confirmed to arrive on devices starting with January 28, and it appears that BlackBerry and its carrier partners are gearing up for its deployment. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
