LG and Verizon have just announced the launch of LG Cosmos 2 feature-phone, which will be available online and in Verizon stores starting with July 14.

Potential customers can purchase the phone for $29.99 after a $50 mail in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

LG Cosmos 2 is aimed at heavy texters who are addicted to social networking, as the phone comes with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard that allows users to quickly text, talk and share.

In addition, the slider provides users with smooth mobile Web browsing and convenient access to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, making it easy to stay connected while on the go.

Beside the 4-row QWERTY keyboard, the Cosmos 2 offers quick access to enhanced apps storefront with shopping cart, recommendations, search features and more.

The handset comes bundled with the Mobile Email application that allows users to send and receive text and picture attachments, as well as search through mail and work contacts.

LG Cosmos 2 customers will be able to try the Mobile Email app for 10 uses at no additional charge, after which they will have to pay a $5 monthly fee.

The phone includes multi-language support, so users can easily switch phone's settings and text input between English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Korean. A Document viewer that supports a wide range of file formats, including .doc, .docx, .xls, .ppt, .pdf and .txt, is included as well.

With the call and messaging restrictions, feature users will be able to block or allow all incoming or outgoing calls and messages, or set restrictions so only calls and messages are allowed with set contacts.

Other highlights of the phone include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) capabilities, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32 GB), music player with support for popular file format, including MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+, as well as 3.5 mm headphone jack.
