Mobile phone users in the United States interested in the purchase of a Motorola DROID MAXX or a DROID ULTRA smartphone can now have them for $100 (€73) less than yesterday.

Mobile phone carrier Verizon, which sells these two exclusively on its network, has cut their prices today for all those who would like to purchase them on contract.

To be more precise, Motorola DROID MAXX is available at only $199 (€146) at the moment, while the DROID ULTRA can be bought for only $99 (€73).

Motorola DROID Mini, which is expected to become available in Red in the not too distant future, is now down to only $49 at the wireless carrier, also on contract.

No specific info on why the carrier slashed the cost of these phones has been provided, Droid-life notes. Chances are that it is trying to increase the volume of sales.
