Samsung has just confirmed the Galaxy S III will be available for purchase in the United States via five major carriers, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular.

However, Verizon is the first to make the smartphone official, though Sprint confirmed earlier today that it would announce the Samsung Galaxy S III on June 12.

Verizon customers will be able to pre-order the Galaxy S III beginning June 6 for $199.99 USD (160 EUR) with a new two-year agreement. The operator will also offer the 32GB model, which can also be pre-ordered for $249.99 USD (200 EUR) on contract.

Two color options will be available for Verizon customers: Marble White or Pebble Blue. It is also worth mentioning that customers who purchase a Galaxy S III will need to subscribe to a 4G LTE mobile broadband data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.

Unlike the international version, the North American Galaxy S III will be shipped with 2GB of RAM and full LTE support.

Verizon Galaxy S III is powered by Google’s latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system integrated with TouchWiz UI 4.0, which is now known as Nature UX.

Lots of new apps and services have been pre-installed on the Galaxy S III, including S-Beam, S-Voice, Samsung Music Hub, Smart Stay, AllShare Play and other.

The super-phone boasts a stunning 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED (PenTile) capacitive touchscreen display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating for extra protection.

Hardware-wise, Verizon Galaxy S III is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It will also feature 16GB or 32GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a high-capacity 2,100 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 24 days of standby time (32 days in 3G mode) or up to 22 hours of talk time (12 hours in 3G mode).
