The update is 80MB in size and brings a few new features and improvements

The Galaxy Stellar received its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update a few months ago, but Verizon and Samsung plan to release another upgrade for the smartphone.

According to Verizon, software update version JZO54K.1200VRBME1 will soon hit Samsung Galaxy Stellar devices via OTA (over-the-air) push.

The official changelog of this update mentions an 80MB size and the following new features and improvements:

- Users viewing Guided Tour Videos regarding Wi-Fi handoff can now scroll through the pop-up message and check the box for ‘do not show again;’ - Users will experience better connectivity and reliability when using Mobile Hotspot; - Users upgrading to the new software to access the Amazon Kindle stub application can now connect to the network without rebooting their device; - The Amazon App store was added as a preloaded application; - The Caller Name ID application was added as a preloaded application in the application tray; - Lock screen functionality has been improved when in idle screen mode; - Speaker phone audio has been improved; - Connectivity during new software installation process has been improved.

No word on when exactly the update will go live, but we will keep an eye out for any reports on availability, so stay tuned.
