Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has confirmed plans to make the Moto X smartphone available on its network ever since the handset was made official in the beginning of this month, and now it has also unveiled a specific release date for it.

According to a recent tweet from the wireless services provider, the new Android-based Motorola smartphone will become available on its network on August 29.

“Ready to #MeetMotoX with Verizon #4G LTE? Available online 8/29 & in stores in the coming weeks. $199.99 on contract,” the company announced. Moto X is currently available for purchase in the United States on AT&T’s network, also priced at $199.99 (€150) on contract, and should land at Sprint and T-Mobile as well, in the not too distant future.

The smartphone packs a 4.7-inch screen, a dual-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 10-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and front camera for video calling.
