Although both Motorola and HTC already confirmed which device they will upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year, Verizon Wireless came forward with a list of its own.

Verizon customers who own one of these devices will probably wonder exactly when the carrier will push the long-awaited upgrade.

Unfortunately, the only thing one can do is to follow @VZWNews on Twitter for more updates on the matter.

For the time being, Verizon promises Ice Cream Sandwich for no less than 14 devices from HTC, Motorola, Samsung and LG.

However, according to the carrier, the list might be updated in the future with additional devices, so make sure you follow Verizon’s Twitter account for more upgrade announcements.

Currently, Verizon has scheduled Android 4.0 for HTC ThunderBolt, HTC DROID Incredible 2, HTC Rhyme and HTC Rezound.

The carrier will also deploy the upgrade for several Motorola devices, such as: Motorola XOOM, DROID BIONIC, DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX, DROID 4, DROID XYBOARD 8.2, and DROID XYBOARD 10.1.

Only two Samsung tablets have been confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 7.7.

If Samsung has two devices that will be upgraded to Android 4.0, Korean handset manufacturer has just one, the LG Spectrum.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will introduce a redesigned user interface, as well as many interesting enhancements, such as upgraded multitasking capabilities, notifications and Web browsing.

It’s likely that the carrier won’t be announcing an upgrade scheduler, but more details will surely be provided closer to launch through Verizon’s official channels.

Even though the number of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradable devices on Verizon’s list is pretty high, it will be nice to see more being added in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on the subject.
