Verizon Wireless is now offering a new version of its V CAST Music service, named "V CAST Music with Rhapsody." As you probably already figured, the new V CAST Music is offered in collaboration with Rhapsody, the online music service of RealNetworks and MTV.

V CAST Music with Rhapsody will allow Verizon subscribers to access more than 5 million songs, for $15 per month. Every song that you buy (for $1.99) will be offered in two copies, one for your mobile phone and one for your PC, the latter coming as a DRM-free MP3.

The $15 a month subscription will also bring you the V CAST Music with Rhapsody Software - a complete solution for music management.

Talking about the new service, John Harrobin, senior vice president of digital media and marketing at Verizon, stated: "V CAST Music with Rhapsody fulfills Verizon's promise to deliver the best mobile experience to our customers. Now, music fans can not only get the benefit of immediate access to music over-the-air, but also - through our partnership with Rhapsody - they can connect their mobile music and devices they carry with them everyday with the ultimate desktop experience."

"Working with Verizon Wireless, we are able to extend the reach of the award-winning Rhapsody service to millions of mobile phones," added Rob Williams, senior vice president of music products for RealNetworks. "V CAST Music with Rhapsody gives mobile phone users the best experience of any music service on the market while also giving them access to unlimited music, whether at home or on-the-go."

V CAST Music with Rhapsody can be downloaded to PCs from Verizon's website and is now available on select Verizon phones, including the newly released LG Dare and LG Decoy, as well as the following handsets: Samsung Glyde, Samsung Juke, Samsung SCH-u550 and Motorola W755. The Rhapsody service will also be available on LG Chocolate 3, when the clamshell hits the market (later this month). Moreover, users who own an LG VX8700, a MOTORIZR Z6tv or a MOTORAZR V9m can also enjoy the V CAST Music with Rhapsody service, if they upgrade their phones (for free) at a Verizon Wireless Communications Store.
