Yesterday, Samsung and Verizon announced the Samsung SCH-u650 Sway. The device is a stylish silver cellphone that delivers lots of goodies for little money, so this means that, most probably, it will turn out to be a hit.

Sway can be used as an MP3 player, with Verizon providing access to over 5 million songs through their V Cast Music with Rhapsody. This service is free of digital rights management, so this means users can play the music they take on multiple devices, including their PCs.

The phone also features a 2.0 megapixel camera with digital zoom and NightShot, camcorder, Bluetooth, and up to 8GB of memory using the external microSD card slot. Everything you have stored on the Sway can be viewed on the 2.2-inch screen. Its dimensions are 105.4mm x 49.8mm x 12.0mm (4.15″ x 1.96″ x 0.47″) with standard battery, and a weight of 101g (3.56 ounces).

Users will also be able to access the Internet and Verizon's Media Center with this phone, so they can either download games, ringtones, and other, or just browse for the latest news.

The Samsung SCH-u650 Sway will be available in stores starting October 14, but it can be ordered online as of now. Should users choose the latter option, they would have to pay $69.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate, for the phone - of course, with a two-year contract.

This device coming from Verizon and Samsung is definitely a mid-ranged one, but with a low budget price. However, as noted above, it brings along some really nice features. It might not be a Pixon, but this phone was definitely designed to make heads turn, and for good reasons - the silver finish with the slender look were chosen precisely with that in mind. Moreover, the Sway is a slider, which, right now, is a really fashionable feature in phones.
