Resulting in better 3G services

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless announced on Wednesday new 3G network expansions in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. According to the company, it has made new investments in Cambridgeside Galleria so as to boost the coverage for wireless voice and 3G data in the area. The new site deployments in New England come as part of its attempt to deliver better services to all of its users, the company noted.

According to Verizon Wireless, the new enhancements are meant to offer its subscribers that use a smartphone or a notebook the possibility to enjoy faster web browsing and quicker page loading times, faster music and video downloads, streaming video, as well as downloading and playing 3D videos. In addition, the new improvements in the company's 3G coverage should also result in a faster sharing of files, and are meant to enable users benefit from video conferencing capabilities, as well as from sending and receiving emails.

“Verizon Wireless’ 3G network coverage across New England is unparalleled,” said Director for Network System Performance for Verizon Wireless, Richard Enright. “We’ve invested billions of dollars into New England believing that even the most sophisticated cell phone is only as good as the network it runs on. Our continued aggressive network investments provide customers with a 3G network advantage at home and on vacation.”

Other benefits that users will enjoy courtesy of Verizon's investments in the enhancement of its network include better 3G services, including Mobile Broadband, V CAST: Video and Music and V Cast Music with Rhapsody. The carrier is touting its network as being 'America’s most reliable wireless network,' based on various studies. The transfer rates its 3G network can support peak 1.4 megabits per second on the downlink, and 800 kbps on the uplink. Verizon is currently the largest carrier in the US, with a customer base that includes 89 million people.
