Verizon Adds More Features to V CAST Video

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has announced recently that it continues to add new features to the V CAST Video service its handset users can benefit from. There are more than 140 programs from leading broadcast and cable networks that Verizon delivers on wireless devices, and the carrier says that it has worked closely with its partners to deliver live television programs to V CAST Video.


The programs that Verizon's users can enjoy with V CAST Video include full-length episodes, as well as new series that premiere every month (according to Big Red, there are 50 series making a debut on V CAST Video during 2009). The long-form programming option enables users to catch the newest episodes of the shows they like the most, including sports updates and comedy, as well as other shows, no matter where they are, all on demand.

The new live television programs coming to V CAST Video are meant to enable customers to stay on top of what is happening even at times when they are not close to a TV or computer. According to the company, some of the live events would include college football games, professional hockey playoff games, the Dew Tour, and more. A number of around 100 live sporting events are expected to come to V CAST Video before the year's end.

Verizon also notes that all of its new customers who own a V CAST-enabled feature phone or have a BlackBerry Storm smartphone are able to access V CAST Video for a $10 per month subscription, and they will receive full-length television shows in addition to news, sports, weather and more. While there are no megabyte charges for downloading or streaming V CAST content with a subscription, users should subscribe to a data package. At the same time, the company also says that the $15 V CAST Vpak has been replaced with the new V CAST Video on Demand plan.
