HTC Touch Diamond2 is yet another Windows Mobile-based handset the Taiwanese company HTC Corporation has released on the market this year, and it seems that the phone is heading towards the United States on Verizon's airwaves. According to the news, the new device might drop on the carrier's shelves sometime in September or October, looking quite attractive for a touchscreen-only handset.

The Verizon-bound Diamond 2 (aka HTC Whitestone), should come around with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and should include a Qualcomm 7600 @ 528MHz chip, along with 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, as well as aGPS and full GPS. Moreover, WMExperts also points towards the fact that the device is a World phone, sporting GSM/CDMA connectivity.

The Verizon flavor of the phone looks a little different, though the specs are rather impressive, since they have been improved compared to the original model. It shouldn't be too long before Big Red announces the handset, and we're sure that enthusiasts will rejoice when that happens, although the Touch Diamond2 does not come with Windows Mobile 6.5, which should become available in about the same time frame.

The other HTC handset that surfaced on WMExperts is the recently spotted HTC Mega. The phone can now be seen in the first photo available with it, and some of the specs it should include are also available. The list shows that it will come with Windows Mobile 6.5 onboard, as well as with a 2.8-inch QVGA display that boasts a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel camera, and GSM/GPRS Edge/HSDPA connectivity. In addition, it should be powered by a Qualcomm 7225@ 528 MHz processor and sport 256MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM – not as impressive as the higher-end Diamond2, yet still a nice option.
