Verbatim, being the maker of storage products that it is, decided to go ahead and launch a new series of USB flash drive units, the Store 'n' Go V3 USB 3.0.

The name alone is enough to spell out more or less everything worth knowing about the devices: they are meant to be carried anywhere and transfer data at the highest speeds currently possible over Universal Serial Bus.

In case anyone missed it, the top transfer speed allowed by USB 3.0 is 4.8 Gbps (5 Gbps is more commonly used).

Storage units can't tap into that full potential yet, but the Store 'n' Go V3 USB 3.0 should still do more than decently.

Either way, if there is no USB 3.0 port available on a PC or whatever else one is trying to plug the drive in, USB 2.0 is supported too.

"With the new V3 USB 3.0 Drive, users can take advantage of the much faster USB 3.0 ports which are becoming standard on many newer laptop and desktop PCs offered for sale this year,”said Mark Rogers, Verbatim product manager, Flash Memory Products.

“t very nearly the same price as an ordinary USB 2.0 drive is just icing on the cake. Offering a convenient cap-less design, the V3 enables students and professionals alike the ability to quickly transfer data in a small, compact device."

Verbatim's creations are compatible with both PCs and Mac systems and cover the 8 GB – 64 GB capacity range.

As for the design, the USB port is retractable, granting an extra level of endurance, and there are seven color options to choose from (individual tastes are taken into account, broadening the reach of the collection). Prospective buyers should have $19.99 to spare, and probably just as many Euro if they live in Europe, should they wish to buy a Store 'n' Go V3 USB 3.0 Drive. Check local and online retailers.
