Coming to extend its collection of portable storage solutions, Verbatim has issued a press release in which it describes the ins and outs of the upcoming Store 'n' Go Traveller.

Verbatim is one of those companies that deals in more than one IT segment, even if it does have a slew of competitors.

Fortunately, the storage and peripheral markets still allow for much variety, so that consumers may find items from many a company instead of having to choose between just one or two major players, like on the CPU industry, where Intel and AMD dominate.

Granted, the storage industry could be seen as largely controlled by Western Digital, Seagate and, as a fairly distant third, Toshiba.

Nevertheless, Verbatim is still very much alive and kicking in this segment, its most recent announcement revolving around a new Store 'n' Go portable hard disk drive.

The newcomer bears the name of Store 'n' Go Traveller and is built for both speed and endurance. It will sell for 88.49 Euro and will most likely start shipping during IFA.

The performance aspect is determined by the existence of USB 3.0 support, while survivability exists thanks to the durable enclosure and its rubber edges.

For those that do not remember, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 is the latest iteration of the universal Serial Bus standard and works at up to 5 Gbps, ten times the maximum of USB 2.0.

That said, the drive has a capacity of 750 GB and features the 2.5-inch form factor, plus either a black or a silver coloring.

Like most other rival devices, it needs no additional power to run beyond what is provided via the USB cable.

Finally, Verbatim made sure that the product bundle includes the Nero BackItUp and Burn Essentials software, plus the more or less self-explanatory Green Button app.
