On June 21, Guild Software released a new update for their Vendetta Online science fiction massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that brings many interesting features for the Android version of the software.

According to the release notes, Vendetta Online 1.8.341 adds support for both landscape modes on the Android version of the game, which requires a sideload update or a Google Play Store app update. Also, the Android version of Vendetta Online now gives you the unique opportunity to review the app when docking to a non-training statation after an in-app purchace or after playing online for approximately 10 minutes.

"We're nearing the DX11 and GL4 drivers becoming the production standard, so please continue to help us test them, and report any issues on the Bugs forum, or in a Support Ticket if privacy is needed," reads the announcement. "The new rendering-engine becoming "production-ready", as well as some other emerging features, will help mark a major update planned for the near future."

OpenGL 4 and DirectX 11 improvements

Vendetta Online 1.8.341 also sees the addition of various video driver options that allow the player to toggle shadows and change the numeber of dynamic lights in the OpenGL 4 and DirectX 11 drivers. Also, a crash that occurred when attempting to switch from the OpenGL 4 drive to the OpenGL Reference one if the glow effect and multithreaded rendering were enabled was patched.

Last but not least, the developers of the Vendetta Online game manage to lengthen the  firing distance in Border Skirmish Teradon, as well as to shorten the average combat distance by 100 meters. Vendetta Online 1.8.341 is available as an update for all existing players, but you can also download it right now for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS operating systems from the game's website.
