Studio Velvetelvis will host a cross media production, presenting ?When Games Met Film? at EIFF on Monday 21st August and ?New Avenues Of Integration? at EIEF on Tuesday 22nd August.

The founders of Velvetelvis, John ?DJ? DesJardin and Rosanna Sun, will host both the EIEF and EIFF sessions. During the EIEF06 session John and Rosanna will be sharing their experiences illustrating that the ?fusion? of all potential commercial elements ? film, games, music, web, books - creates new paradigms of creative expression. Alternately, John and Rosanna will profile their work with the Wachowski Brothers on the Matrix sequel films and the Enter, the Matrix video game, at the EIFF session, with a focus on what led to their interest being moved from film into integrated game production after 3+ years in the land of the "red pill" and beyond. Both EIEF06 and the session at EIFF are supported by Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian.

?Hosting a session at both EIEF and EIFF is a great honor for us. A few years ago this would not have been conceivable and being given this opportunity at the festival this year reinforces our belief that films and video games are becoming ever more closely interlinked,? said Rosanna Sun.

"I am delighted that we have been able to collaborate with EIEF and look forward to welcoming John and Rosanna to EIFF. The cross collaboration of film and games is at a very exciting point and the work of Velvetelvis is a perfect event for EIFF and EIEF to jointly host," said Nicola Kettlewood, Programme Producer, EIFF.
