A new value oriented solution emerges into the market

As I've previously said, Velocity Micro makes his money from building custom PCs. Anything from passive cooling to more exotic TECs and Water Blocks can be used in order to chill your computer, you can choose from PSUs rated up to 1KW of power. Everything is customizable in lots of ways, starting with the CPU and finishing with the look of the case. So why would they bother to release a value PC?

It looks like even consecrated system integrators take into account the fact that money can also come from cheaper products. And in order to test the market one would have to launch such a line. And that's exactly what Velocity Micro did.

The Vector GX Holiday Edition computer is the final product that the guys at Velocity Micro released in order to satisfy increasing computers demand ahead of Christmas. Although it's a $950 PC, it still packs quite a lot of power by incorporating an E6300 Allendale CPU, 1GB of Ram and a 250GB hard drive. The unit comes with 2 optical drives, one of them acting as a DVD-Writer and also incorporates a 7600gs series video card. The PCs come integrated in a nice aluminum chassis and you can choose between three colors: black, silver and blue.

Nice ideas like this frequently transform into big sales. What remains to be seen is how other system integrators will react. And from what I can tell, they're not going to stand still.
