The PMP could be the thinnest portable media player in the world

Tired of buying electronics named after a fruit? How about a tomato? A Korean electronics company named Tomato has recently squeezed its brains out to release a brand new MP3 and MP4- which on my planet is called PMP- portable player. The new veggie doesn't wear any hilarious name, just a silly codename, D18.

Judging by the company's name you probably expected to see a smooth, perhaps funky round red tomato-shaped like PMP. Well, the makers have actually developed an elegant device, which has nothing to do with the tomato concept.

Encased in its pink aluminum body casing, with its vintage engravings, the PMP could make the perfect gift for inexperienced teenage girls. To whom it may concern, the player comes in an uninspired color palette, such as green onion, orange and yellowish green.

Being 5mm thick, it could be the thinnest portable media player in the world. Besides its design line, the portable device comes equipped with a 1.8 inch LCD screen display. The internal stuff makes your mouth water, as the storage capability is a 60GB delicious one. These features are complemented by a high speed USB file transfer compliance. The USB port can also be used for recharging.

The vegetable-named company is the same one that developed the generously-sized U7 DAP. Compared to the U7 media device, the elegant Tomato D18 PMP is a little piece of crap. It cannot do any impressive decoding and neither does it feature any extra options, although the design line was improved to meet the latest standards.

Sadly, there is yet no official word on the PMP's pricing and availability. However, the fellows from Mobilewhack said the player was priced in Korea for about 90,000 won, a.k.a 107 bucks.

Since Christmas is to come, I guess you could ask Santa to bring you one of these!
