Vegan couple Jack and Toby Litsky have entered a dispute with the Monticello restaurant at Red Bank, in New Jersey.

The pair bring their own 100 percent whole grain pasta to restaurants and usually only eat certain ingredients of the dish mentioned in the menu.

As they normally just serve the pasta with tomato sauce, mushrooms, onions and seasoning, they are most often offered a discount.

Jack Litsky claimed that he had dined at the Monticello before, at which time they agreed to accommodate his needs.

However, the last time he was there, the manager was not as accommodating. Litsky brought the list of ingredients he wants in the meal, as seen above, he was served what he asked for, but was not offered a price cut.

Also, he wanted to pay part of the amount listed on his and his friends' bill with a coupon, and that proved impossible.

According to NJ.com, owner Caterin Giambalzo explained that making a custom meal for him on a busy Saturday evening cost extra, and charged what she would for a meat pasta dish.

She even called the police when Litsky refused to pay, and specified that any arrangements he had with the restaurant in the past had been discussed with the previous manager.
