Siblings Aubry and Kale Walch have a dream, but truth be told, their dream is probably a whole lot of people's nightmare. Long story short, they want to open a so-called vegan butcher shop in the city of Minneapolis in Minnesota, US.

The siblings say that, when up and running, their shop, dubbed The Herbivorous Butcher, will offer customers downright bizarre dishes like meatless ribs, chicken, bacon, and sausages.

In case anyone was wondering, these treats that Aubry and Kale Walch promise to soon introduce people to are made with ingredients such as wheat gluten, soy sauce, tomato juice, olive oil, and even brown sugar.

Aubry and Kale Walch say that their products will perfectly imitate the taste and texture of meat. Hence, they might just be the key to encouraging more people to embrace a vegan lifestyle.

As they put it, “We've created complex and flavorful products that will satisfy any herbivore, omnivore, and even self‐proclaimed carnivores.”

The two siblings say that, now that they have obtained the $50,000 (€40,500) they needed to jump start this project, plus some extra, it is only a matter of time until the world's first vegan butcher shop will open in Minneapolis.

Just for the record, it must be said that Aubry and Kale Walch both embraced veganism several years ago. The siblings say that, after giving up meat, they got busy perfecting all sorts of vegan recipes.

Should things go as planned, The Herbivorous Butcher will open sometime next spring. It will look just like any other butcher shop except that it will only sell vegan products.
