Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have decided to end their 14-year romance and go their separate ways. They have two children together, for which reason Depp has agreed to give Paradis half his estate, estimated at a whopping $300 million (€236.5 million).

At least, that's what reports in the tabloids, as cited by the Daily Mail, are saying.

The former couple announced their decision the other day, with a publicist refusing to comment more on it than to say that they request privacy, both for themselves and the children.

The Mail says that Depp has already agreed to a generous payoff to his former partner: they were not married, so he's not legally forced to divide assets with her, but he wants to do so for the sake of their two children, Lily Rose and Jack.

Vanessa has walked away from the relationship with $150 million (€118.2 million), the British tabloid claims. As it happens, it has no official confirmation for such claim.

The Mail also says that, back in May this year, Vanessa was already looking at mansions in Beverly Hills, which could indicate that they had already split at the time.

“The couple have a mansion and apartment in Los Angeles and own the island of Little Hall's Pond Cay in the Bahamas,” the tab further says.

“In Europe, the couple's main home is in Plan-de-la-Tour in southern France, as well as a house in Paris, a canalside palazzo in Venice and Depp is said to have been the mystery buyer of a house in the Norfolk village of Burnham Market,” the report notes.

Publicists for either star refuse to comment on such aspects of their private life.

At the same time, People magazine says that, though shocking, the split took no one from their inner circle by surprise, because both Vanessa and Johnny had been trying to save their relationship for months.

“They've tried for months to save the relationship, but have known for weeks that it couldn't be saved,” an insider is quoted as saying.

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had been together for 14 years, during which they were, without a doubt, one of Hollywood's most beautiful, popular and beloved couples.
