Both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were in attendance at the Golden Globes 2011 but, while Jolie was accompanied by partner Brad Pitt, Depp came alone. In Touch Weekly has a theory on why Vanessa Paradis wasn’t there.
Apparently, the French beauty can’t stand Jolie, so she chose to skip the fancy awards gala to make sure she doesn’t have to be in her presence, the tabloid reports.
This comes, as usual, from an unnamed but admittedly reliable source who has it on good authority that Jolie is not in Paradis’ good graces (story via
here).
“Jennifer Aniston wasn’t the only one who stayed home from the Globes in order to avoid Angelina Jolie,” a piece in the latest print issue of In Touch reads.
“According to an insider, Johnny Depp, nominated for both Alice in Wonderland and
The Tourist, went alone because his girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, ‘can’t stand Angelina’,” the mag further says.
The spy says Jolie’s flirting with Johnny is simply too much for Vanessa – and she’d rather not see it if she has a choice about it.
“She can’t stand the way Angelina always flirts with Johnny in front of her. She thinks it’s a sign of disrespect,” the tipster explains.
This is not the first time that rumors make the rounds about how Paradis is not entirely ok with the idea of Johnny working with Angelina, as we
also noted on a previous occasion.
Back in November last year, for instance, sources were telling the tabs that “The Tourist,” where Depp and Jolie play lovers, was also supposed to include a very steamy love scene between the two leads.
After pleading with Depp not to do the film, Paradis was eventually forced to put down her foot and ask him to refuse shooting said scene, which never made it on film, tabs claimed at the time.
Back to the Globes story, one should also consider the possibility that Paradis didn’t attend the Globes because she was otherwise engaged someplace else. After all, she doesn’t always
accompany Depp at all the awards shows.
