14 DAY TRIAL // When Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis announced that they were ending their 14-year romance a couple of years ago, fans were shocked to learn that not all was rosy between them: after all, they had been Hollywood’s golden couple for so long, that the news was almost hard to believe at first.
Shortly after the breakup, which insiders claim was rather nasty, with Vanessa accusing Johnny of being unfaithful to her, he started dating his “Rum Diary” co-star Amber Heard. The fact that rumors had them together long before he and Vanessa confirmed the split fueled speculation that she had actually ended their relationship, earning her the nickname of homewrecker.
Johnny and Amber are now engaged to be married, with the actor popping the question some time ago and Amber debuting the giant diamond ring he proposed with last week.
To rumors that Vanessa is having a very hard time accepting that Johnny is about to marry Amber even though he never wanted to marry her even after 14 years and 2 children together, an insider tells Us Weekly that this isn’t the case.
She is not upset about the engagement because she is past the point where she’s feeling any kind of resentment towards him for how things ended.
“Vanessa wished him happiness,” when Depp called her to tell her the news, a friend of Vanessa’s says. “No drama.”
Moreover, it isn’t just Johnny that has moved on: Vanessa too is seeing someone else, French pop star Benjamin Biolay, and she’s very “happy” with him. “She’s not bitter” about Depp’s engagement, another source stresses for the same celebrity publication.
Us Weekly says that, while the engagement might be news to fans and the world in general, it actually “happened a couple of months ago [but] she just hasn’t been wearing the ring.” Despite the fact that his personal life always makes it in the tabloids, Depp is famously private, so this would probably explain why he and Amber decided not to break the news to the media.
Sadly for fans, this also means that, if they do get married, we will probably not find out until after the fact.
