14 DAY TRIAL // Rumor has it that Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s much younger fiancée, is mortified at the way he behaved at the Hollywood Film Awards 2014 last month, when he showed up on stage to present an award clearly so badly intoxicated that he couldn’t even stand, let alone hold a speech.
It turns out that she’s not the only one, because his ex, Vanessa Paradis, is equally embarrassed for him. She thinks that Amber is partly to blame for what is happening, or so claims a juicy new report in the latest print issue of Star magazine (story via CB).
Depp got terribly drunk at high-profile function
Depp has been getting a lot of media attention (and not of the good kind) since his drunken appearance at that awards show, and if you check out the video embedded at the end of the article, it’s not really that hard to tell why.
Some fans still maintain that he was pulling some sort of prank or Method acting, but the consensus is that he was too drunk to be able to carry with his presenting duties. Other reports note that he’d been drinking the entire night at the same gala, to the point where he had to be carried out at the end of it, because he could no longer walk.
Amber was not with him at the event, but insiders close to the couple have revealed that, when she found out what went down, she was furious with him. Not only was he destroying his career by acting this way, she reportedly told him, but he was also making her look bad, because his heavy drinking would reflect badly on her.
Vanessa thinks Amber is to blame
She was right on that last count, this new report argues: Vanessa too thinks that this is bad for Amber – bad because it proves she’s not equipped to handle Depp and his drunken binges. Because, apparently, Johnny is not his own grown man.
“Vanessa’s convinced Amber’s not mature or tough enough to deal with Johnny’s drinking,” says a tipster, adding that Paradis was mortified to see her ex in that condition, knowing that this would be turned into a huge thing online – for all the right reasons.
“It burns Vanessa to see him making such a fool of himself,” the spy adds. “She blames Amber for his mid-life crisis.” Vanessa also thinks this nasty episode may have already hurt Depp’s career and standing as a father for good.
Johnny and Amber are not getting married
Whether connected to this drunken appearance or not, it seems that Amber and Johnny have decided to put off the wedding indefinitely, according to the latest in the glossies and in the blogosphere.
Other sources close to the couple claim that, while Johnny is still very willing and eager to walk down the aisle, despite his initial reluctance towards the institution of marriage, it’s Amber who’s pulling on the brakes, because she’s realized that she’s too young to settle down already.
The 23-year age gap, which was a very thrilling part of their romance at first, has also worn out its novelty, and Amber is starting to question her decision to be tied down to Depp for the rest of her life. So for the time being, there will be no wedding for these two.
Officially though, they’re yet to call off the engagement or announce their breakup. Considering how they handled their romance so far, if they do break up, we’ll probably find out for certain about it some weeks after the fact.
