Vanessa Hudgens of “The High School Musical” fame is looking to break free from her innocent girl, Disney image. She wants to be a serious actress and she wants to be known for her work only, she tells Details.

Of course, posing in very little clothing will also help draw attention to the point she’s trying to make: she’s no longer a girl and she’s looking to shake things up a bit about her career and her image.

Hudgens will be seen next in “Sucker Punch,” directed by the visionary Zach Snyder, in which she plays an institutionalized girl that teams up with another girl to create an alternate reality where they can escape.

She’s also working on the sequel to “Journey to the Center of the Earth” in which she has the honor to work opposite Michael Caine. Michael Caine whom she positively “loves.”

“He’s uh-mazing,” Vanessa gushes, deliberately breaking the word in two. “Not only is he uh-mazingly, stupidly talented, but he still kind of hits on me. All the time,” she says.

“If it was anybody else, I’d be like ‘Who the hell do you think you are?’ But because it’s Michael Caine, I’m like, ‘Sock it to me more, baby, come on!’” she adds.

Vanessa would also like to work with Quentin Tarantino, arguably one of the most original directors of the day. She even mustered the courage to talk to him about it at Madonna’s party after last year’s Oscars.

“I was talking to him for a while, probably after a few drinks, and I told him, ‘We’ve gotta do something together.’ And he was like, ‘I would love to. That would be really great.’ So it’s been put out there,” Hudgens says.

She was amazed at how bold she was, since she’s usually “very shy.” Unfortunately, so far, nothing has come of this encounter – not that Vanessa is losing hope just yet.

“Nothing has happened with Tarantino yet. But I definitely tried to plant my seed. Hopefully he won’t look back and think, ‘Oh my God. That crazy [expletive]’,” she says.
