Nicely designed

WM2 is the name of the latest cell phone watch unveiled by Van Der Led, a Dutch-based company. The device comes with a nice design and several cool features (for a gadget of this kind), like 1GB of built-in memory, stereo Bluetooth, MP3/MP4 player, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS, an 1.3 inch TFT touchscreen display with 260K colors support, FM radio and USB. Moreover, WM2 supports "incoming call vibration" and no less than 10 languages: English, French, Russian, German, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai.

Measuring 62 x 45.5 x 17.6 millimeters (2.44 x 1.79 x 0.69 inches), Van Der Led WM2 is not the smallest cell phone watch we've seen, but it's still small enough to be wearable. A nice thing about it is the fact that its wristband features what seems to be a hardware keypad - a great addition besides the tiny touchscreen that can give you a hard time when trying to type phone numbers.

Although I said in the article's title that Van Der Led WM2 is a Dutch watch phone, I'm not really sure the device is actually produced by Van Der Led (which seems to be only a retailer and not a manufacturer). Especially since on the VDL website, below the presentation of every product, there are two notes that say: "Assembled in Country of Origin: The Netherlands and/or Imported" and "Origin of Components: The Netherlands and/or Imported". Which means the WM2 can be actually made in China. Not that big handset producers, like Nokia or Motorola, don't make lots of their phones in China, but we're just discussing the Dutch or non-Dutch origin of WM2 here.

Either way, WM2 will be available starting the 14th of April, unlocked, via Van Der Led's website, for 299.99 Euro (about $475).
