Darkeden, a massively multiplayer online
role-playing game developed by Joymax, presents a fantasy conflict between the vampires and the slayers. The view in this game is an isometric 2D, while all the graphics are hand made (and the
chicks are looking great!). It offers a variety of character-building options for the hardcore fans, but it is said to be easy to learn by novices, as well. An even more interesting fact about the game is the possibility players have to build up their character in two distinct systems while, overall, there are hundreds of potential skills to learn
from.
So, this is the game that just entered the Open Beta stage. It's not even finished yet, but the developers already started to hand out bonuses. For example, as a holiday treat starting 18th of December, there will be a Christmas special event - players will have the opportunity to gather puzzle pieces by hunting monsters, which, when assembled, will reward them with a Christmas tree or a Snowman. Each can be inscribed with customized messages and placed anywhere in the game world. Kind of a message for the future...
"This is an excellent opportunity for players to get in on the ground floor of Darkeden," said June K. Son, General Manager of Joymax. "We welcome everyone to sample what the game has in store, and we're eager to hear what our players have to say as we work on the finishing touches", he added.

official site first, and apply there. Players should note that during this stage, all the participants will be able to progress through the game at an accelerated rate, receiving experience points at 200%. And create customized Christmas trees, if that matters.
