Valve has confirmed that both the company and its hugely successful Team Fortress series have turned 16 years old today and, in order to mark the occasion, the Birthday Party mode has been turned on across the game's various servers.

Team Fortress 2 is one of Valve's most successful products, managing to rake in lots of money even if it's now completely free-to-play. The studio also keeps players hooked on the experience by releasing many new features, like the recently launched Mann vs. Machine co-op mode.

Now, the studio has confirmed that both it and the Team Fortress series have turned 16.

As a result, Party mode is enabled on all TF2 servers, meaning players will now heal themselves by eating cake and can wear party hats or noise makers.

Besides these cosmetic celebrations, Valve has also confirmed that it's upgraded the matchmaking system and added more servers in order to decrease the waiting time for the Mann vs. Machine co-op experience.
