The team at Valve is announcing that it is working on a new piece of hardware called the Steam Link in order to deliver a new option for all gamers who are using a PC and want to experience games anywhere in their house.

During the Game Developers Conference 2015, the company is revealing that all the content from a platform able to run Steam will be enabled for streaming to a range of other devices and that the new Link will support 1080p resolution and 60 hz refresh rate with very low latency.

Valve aims to launch the new piece of hardware in November for 49.99 dollars (40 Euro), and the Steam controller will be introduced at the same time. It will be offered for the same price for all those interested in the United States.

Pricing for Europe will be announced in the coming months.

Valve is also saying that it is working with both Alienware and with Falcon Northwest to launch the official Steam Machines in November.

Apparently, the three companies are planning to deliver them at the same price point as current consoles from Microsoft and Sony, but with better overall performances.

Tim Sweeney, founder of Epic Games, is quoted as saying that "Whether you're running incredibly detailed scenes at 4K or running 1080p at 120 FPS for an intense shooter experience, this brings world-class gaming and graphics to televisions with an open platform true to Valve's PC gaming roots."

Valve is also stating that it will use new tech, including a tracking system called Lighthouse and a new VR input system, for the recently revealed Vive VR headset.

Alan Yates, who is working on the new device, states that the technology is designed to be incorporated in a variety of devices, from mobile phones to TVs, and that it will be offered for free to all those who are interested in it.

The company is also announcing that VR demos are at the moment being created by studios like Bossa Studios, Cloudhead Games, Dovetail Games, Fireproof Studios, Google, Owlchemylabs, Skillman & Hackett, Steel Wool Games, Vertigo Games and Wevr.

Vive does not yet have an official launch date and Valve has not mentioned how much it will cost.
