Video game developer and publisher Valve has announced that it will be holding a programming oriented talk at the upcoming Games Developers Conference 2012, which will take place from March 5 to 9 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

The conference from Valve will be headlined by Elan Ruskin and will bear the title “AI-driven Dynamic Dialog through Fuzzy Pattern Matching. Empower Your Writers!”, dealing with how the company has managed to track the huge number of possible scenarios that could appear in Left 4 Dead and make sure that the four main characters reacted as they should.

The talk will be programming heavy but will also offer insights into how Valve emphasizes writing in its games.

The GDC 2012 conference also attracts talks from other developers like Blizzard, Rocksteady and Double Fine.

The GFC event includes talks linked to tracks like Audio, Business, Marketing & Management, Game Design, Production, Programming and Visual Arts.
