The development team at Valve launches a new short movie, called The International, which is designed to show off the major events taking place during the main DOTA 2 tournament of the year.

The movie, which is about 20 minutes long, focuses on the core concepts of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena genre and then introduces players to the ideas behind the gameplay of DOTA 2, giving even those who never played it an idea about its mechanics.

There are also interviews with those who took part and a clear recapitulation of the DOTA 2 matches that happened.

The Valve organized tournament was significant because it offered a 1 million dollar (783,000 Euro).

DOTA 2 will get a full launch from Valve during 2012 and is currently in beta phase, with the community offering feedback on the way the game works.
