Valve Launches Steam iPhone App

Valve has launched Steam Mobile, a portable version of their popular gaming platform for avid gamers who own an iOS device.

According to the steampowered.com site, Steam Mobile will let you connect with your buddies on the go, use the built-in chat client to communicate your thoughts, and even browse the extensive Steam library of Windows and Mac titles from your portable device.

“With the free Steam app for iOS, you can participate in the Steam community wherever you go,” say the developers. “Chat with your Steam friends, browse community groups and user profiles, read the latest gaming news and stay up to date on unbeatable Steam sales.”

The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later. It's also available for Droids, and it's cross-platform compatible.
